Beekeeping Training Resources
At African Honey Bee we believe in taking it some steps further though a holistic training programme that goes beyond just beekeeping. The goal is to improve the families’ lives in multiple ways, including social cohesion, good nutrition, food production, income generation, and a hope built on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Families are trained to use resources they already have to make and repair their equipment.
They conserve their environment and protect the honeybees in their natural habitat and so support biodiversity. The aim is to empower families to continue to develop and improve their skills, even after completing the training programme.
The proverbial saying “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime”, reminds us all that alleviating poverty is best done by facilitating self-sufficiency.
